From Instagram influencers to reporters: @tatosymas cover the Goya Awards for Aragón Digital in a historic edition for Aragonese cinema.
The 39th edition of the Goya Awards quickly became a landmark event for Aragonese cinema, boasting a record 23 nominations and multiple awards for La estrella azul by Javier Macipe and La virgen roja by Paula Ortiz. With this in mind, Aragón Digital put together a special coverage team led by Zaragoza-based @tatosymas, well known on social media for their content on Aragonese film festivals.
From the high-speed AVE train journey to Granada, reporter Eric was by the nominees’ side, capturing the pre-gala nerves and starring in unique moments—handing out Virgen del Pilar ribbons to attendees and gifting Aragón Digital mugs to the main nominees.
On the red carpet, Eric certainly didn’t go unnoticed. Dressed in a Goya-style skirt and a jacket featuring an image of the Virgen del Pilar on the back, he became a true ambassador for Aragón Digital and Aragonese culture. His charisma caught the attention of actors and filmmakers alike, even impressing the President of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, who was quick to pose for a photo with him.
The evening brought major wins for the region’s film industry. La estrella azul secured awards for Best New Director (Javier Macipe) and Best New Actor (Pepe Lorente), while La virgen roja took home the prizes for Best Costume Design (Arantxa Ezquerro) and Best Production Design (Javier Alvariño).
This special coverage comes in a milestone year for Aragón Digital, as it celebrates 25 years of delivering rigorous and committed journalism. A quarter of a century covering Aragonese current affairs—now, from the heart of Spain’s biggest film celebration.
